Rhinoplasty

What is a Rhinoplasty?

A rhinoplasty or a nose job, is an individualised surgery repairing nasal aesthetic and functional deformities. We structure a nose that fits most harmoniously with a patient’s facial anatomy to maximise their aesthetic structure and beauty.

The Procedure

Measurements are taken to sculpt a nose that fits the face well. Some cases are performed as closed rhinoplasty without any external incision, others are performed as open rhinoplasty. The decision close versus open is done based on many esthetic and functional parameters.

For the cases of revision rhinoplasties, an additional ear or rib cartilage may be taken and used through hidden incisions.

Procedure can take 1-2 hours.

What about the recovery?

Patients will experience discomfort that can be relieved with medication. Two days after the surgery, you should expect bruising & swelling to be at its worst. Cast and sutures are removed 7 days after the surgery.

You are asked to keep nasal tapes day and night during the second week after the surgery. The nasal shape will be evident 1 month after the surgery and the final shape will show after 6-12 months.

Possible Rhinoplasty complications

Like any surgery, there are possible complications: hematoma, infection, scarring, asymmetries.
